I survived GRL and I liked it

Wow what a week it was.....I had no idea how much fun I was going to have, yes I was excited to be going, planned it for a whole year, and still was wasn't a hundred percent sure how it was going to be..........

It was amazing, absolutely amazing...........From the Hard Rock Hotel to it's friendly and helpful staff to the wonderful authors and publishers and the amazing GRL crew who worked their fannies off to make it what it was I thank you all from the bottom of my heart....

There is no way I could possibly name all the fabulous people I had the honor of meeting as it would take way too many brain cells to remember them all.......

I truly felt like I was among people who totally get each other...

We could talk about books and shows and porn stars and not have to say the word gay as if it were taboo....We could all laugh and crack totally inappropriate jokes and know the people around us could just get up and leave or join in with us....

I have never laughed so hard in my life....and I loved that the couples there could be totally open and affectionate with each other and never have to worry about homophobic assholes passing judgement......

To all of you authors I met and admire, thank you for making this a trip I will find a way to do every year!!!!!

To my new and old (but havent met in person until then) friends: NJ and Emily her daughter, Cherie, William, Kelly, Simone, Amy, Taylor, LC, Anne, MJ, Carrie Anne, Z, K-Lee, Erica Pike and Erica not-Pike heehee, Linda and Helen from Mississippi I will cherish every moment with you all!!!

This was such an amazing time and hopefully next year I wont act like such a fan-girl.............oh who am I kidding of course I will..........Jet Mykles may be hiding from me but that's okay it was so worth meeting her!!!

If you didn't get a chance to attend this year start saving your money, it will so be worth it!!!

Two more weeks to GRL

Last night I was on the phone with a good friend and we were talking about how excited we are about GRL and how after months of being online friends we will actually meet in person for the first time. I realized this will be true for a lot of my good friends. One such friend I have know for over 5 years and we have yet to meet in real life, but that will all change in a couple of weeks. I can't wait!

She told me she had a list of the authors she wanted to meet and I jokingly said "Oh are you gonna walk up to them then scratch them off your list?" She replied that it was more of a mental list which I can completely relate to as I have one of my own. But if you're going to GRL and you see two 'crazy' ladies walking around with a list that could put Santa's naughty and nice list to shame, come say hi we would be thrilled to meet everyone there!

Until then I will be adding more names to my own list ;)

GRL

I am beyond excited that GRL is just mere weeks away. Seems like it's been FOREVER that I started planning for it!!!

I can't decided if I'm more excited about getting away or meeting my fave authors or meeting all my internet friends................hmmmmm..............I think it's all 3!!!

It is gonna be so much fun putting faces to names......

just 3 more weeks....................hope to meet some of you there!!!

For NJ Nielsen...just because.............

what? where? how? why?

What is going on?

Where the hell have I been?

How did I lose so much time?

Why haven't I posted in almost a month?

Yes these very questions I have been asking myself and I truly have no answers at least none I would post here......

Senility is an ugly thing..........Forgetfulness just as bad.............

Yes I will freely admit I have been a slacker...........hiding out in LaLa Land.........twitching my fingers instead of using them to write...................(insert) deep sigh...........

Okay enough of the BS.....life has been a bit hectic but is finally slowing down and  I totally plan on taking care of all the things I promised to take care of.............#1 this blog...............So today I am posting a fun song tomorrow who knows maybe a blog story...............

It's a Sign

So I have been working on several stories this summer...

The first one I have been playing around with for years, the second is the sequel to my Love is Always Right story and the third is for a submission call. So I'm working my not so little tushy off on the third story but something just doesn't feel right. For some reason I keep thinking back to my story, the one I've been working on and off of for years. 

But I ignore it and put my nose to the grind stone, because I am determined to finish the submission story come hell or high water and then yesterday the unthinkable happens.

I hit the backspace button to erase a line I didn't like and the whole document just disappears!!! :o 

OMG......in my panic I push the (don't save the changes) question and I lost the entire thing......Of course I haven't saved it anywhere else, because I'm stupid that way.................or am I?

While I stare at the laptop as if I can will the story to magically appear I start thinking about the story I'll never finish and like the proverbial light bulb my mind races with the possibilities that everything really does happen for a reason....

So I put my big girl panties (figuratively not literally) cuz ewwww......

I realize that Karma and Destiny are in my corner and literally screaming at me to finish that particular story........Oh and to never forget to save it to several places.......

Lesson 101 of writing!!

So here's to finishing this story and my sequel and may I never be so absent-minded again.......

Hey a girl can dream cant she??? We shall certainly see ;)

I am frantically working a new story and haven't had much time for anything else....So today I'm just going to put up a nice little video by my most fave singer ever.....
